Seasonal Produce Guide 2023/24 Launch

Fruit Growers Tasmania | Thursday, 23 November 2023, 2.00pm

Just as the fresh fruit season gets underway, Fruit Growers Tasmania and local fruit growers celebrated the launch of the 2023/24 Tasmanian Seasonal Produce Guide by The Hon. Jo Palmer, Minister for Primary Industries and Water, at Willie Smith’s Apple Shed today (Thursday, 23 November).

Linking consumers directly with local producers at their farm gates, retail outlets and farmers markets, the Tasmanian Seasonal Produce Guide is published annually by Fruit Growers Tasmania to encourage people to buy premium quality healthy Tasmanian food and drinks at their absolute best.

The Tasmanian Seasonal Produce Guide continues to feature the TASMANIAN GROWN brand, highlighting the exceptional quality produce grown by Tasmania’s horticulture sector, and the appreciation for Tasmania’s long, slow growing seasons that allow our fruit to ripen naturally, with intense colour and flavour.

Peter Cornish, Fruit Growers Tasmania CEO said, “Our fruit is of the highest quality and likely to be some of the best tasting fruit you’ll experience anywhere. Our growers are dedicated to continually improving every aspect of their business and it’s important for people to connect with our growers to truly experience all that Tasmania’s fruit sector has to offer.

“People around the world seek out our Tasmanian grown fruit, and we are the lucky ones, able to visit the place where it is grown, hours after it has been picked!

“For our Tasmanian fruit growers, who produce some $400 million worth of fruit each year, no customers are more important than our locals, right here at home.”

The Tasmanian Seasonal Produce Guide encourages both local residents and visitors to the State to experience Tasmania’s exceptional produce and to support Tasmanian producers, helping their businesses to grow and thrive.

Available for free across Tasmania, 12,000 copies of the Tasmanian Seasonal Produce Guide will be distributed to visitor information centres, Spirit of Tasmania ferries, Hobart and Launceston airports and participating businesses.

A digital copy of the Tasmanian Seasonal Produce Guide is also available to download from the Fruit Growers Tasmania website, providing access on the go and the ability to easily share amongst friends.
