Partnerships for Multicultural Employment Survey
Fruit Growers Tasmania | Thursday, 3 August 2017, 4.00pm
Dear Employer
My name is Julie Race and I am the Employment and Training Coordinator of the Safe Haven Hub. The focus of the Safe Haven Hub is to develop and support pathways to education, training and employment for all former refugees, migrants and asylum seekers.
Recently ourselves, Job Network Providers (APM, WorkSkills and Max Employment), Employer Connect (TCCI), STEPS, TasTAFE and Migrant Resource Centre formed a group call “Partnerships for Multicultural Employment”. We are exploring how we can collaborate and streamline the process of recruitment for seasonal workers making it easier for Employers, Clients and ourselves. We are looking at the screening process, pre-employment training and pre and post placement support.
We hope that this will give you as an employee who is not only work ready for the industry but prepared to work with your product, which should ensure more reliability. We aim to have a central contact point of contact for recruitment and/or issues that arise.
We would really appreciate your support and input in putting together this program. We want it to be something that benefits you. There will be no cost involved, just your input and use of our service, please.
Could you please take a few minutes to complete the attached 10 questions (questionnaire with room for comments) which will aid us in the development of our screening process. Once I have your replies we will share our proposed process and proposed training for comment.
When completed could you please return the questionnaire to myself by Tuesday August 15th via email julie.race@aohtas.org.au. If you have any questions please call me on 0418 318 431 or email if you prefer, all feedback is welcome.
Thank you for your assistance.
Regards
Julie Race
