New Horticulture Code Obligations

Under the new Horticulture Code of Conduct growers are asked to be aware they must be operating under a Horticulture Produce Agreement. All growers and traders must have a Code compliant Horticulture Produce Agreement. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) says that if you are a farmer growing fruit and vegetables and sell through an agent or to a merchant, the law says you must have a written contract. The Code says this contract must include certain things like how price is calculated and when you get paid. Having a written code protects you.
