Export accreditation workshops

Export producers and packhouses across Tasmania are in the process of renewing their annual export accreditations for key protocol markets. To assist with this, Fruit Growers Tasmania (FGT) held its northern and southern regional export registration workshops on 22 July and 1 August 2019. Both workshops brought together export producers of cherries, apple and other fruit to discuss export requirements for the coming year.
Growers also heard about the current status of Tasmanian market access opportunities, market pathways and requirements to access these markets, as well as changes to the accreditation registration process for 2019. The workshop concluded with growers having a practical refresher for how to register for crop monitor training and submit export accreditation online.
Growers at the southern workshop also had the opportunity to hear from a series of guest presenters, including
- Charlotte Brunt (Cherry Growers Australia), who presented on a range of CGA services and national initiatives including, findings from the collaborations with NRS, as well as changes to domestic and international MRL requirements.
- Carolyn Keily (D. Home Affairs) discussing changes to Australian air freight regulations and the Known Consignor and Australian Trusted Trader programs;
- Hans van Pelt (Tourism Tasmania) discussing opportunities and developments in direct air freight capacity from Hobart to Asia.
